Murata develops integrated passive device for Semtech’s SX126X family
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed a new integrated passive device (IPD) for use with the Semtech LoRa Connect™ SX126x family, which includes the SX1261, SX1262, and LLCC68 products. Using a proprietary low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) process, Murata has successfully replaced a series of discrete matching components of the SX1261/2 reference design with a single 2.00mm x 1.25mm size LTCC component. The IPD enables SX1261/2 radio designers to optimize for both size and performance using two dedicated parts. The LFB21892MDZ7F957 is optimized for US and European ISM bands, delivering the full output power for the US FCC bands. The LFB21892MDZ7F821 is optimized for Eurocentric designs that need to maximize the efficiency performance. “The Murata IPD offers the most efficient development path to realizing the full performance of the SX1261/2, featuring a miniaturized form factor that can significantly reduce board space,” says Arthur Kiang, Product Manager, RF Components, Murata. “The reduction in the number of matching components enables lower material costs and simplifies the design process, leading to shorter lead times. This integration also lowers the probability of soldering and manufacturing issues, as there is only one component to monitor in production.” “Semtech’s LoRa Connect™ SX126x family has become the trusted choice for LoRaWAN® networks and long-range IoT connectivity in applications from smart metering to industrial sensing,” says Carlo Tinella, product marketing director of wireless and sensing products at Semtech. “Murata’s IPD solution demonstrates the strength of our LoRa® ecosystem, helping radio engineers accelerate development while optimizing for both miniaturization and regulatory compliance. This partnership streamlines the path from design to deployment for millions of IoT devices being deployed globally.” Product samples are currently available, with mass production of the IPD commencing shortly.

Ameya360:Panasonic Utilizes Semtech Platform for Display Products
Semtech Corp. is collaborating with Panasonic Connect for display products integrated with Semtech’s BlueRiver platform. With BlueRiver, the new Panasonic Connect display products are now able to support Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) and are ideal for applications in business, education and e-sports. “Panasonic has products shipping now that support the Smart Display Module (SDM) format: the Advanced 4K LED displays for business which includes EQ2, SQE1 and SQ1 series. And the lineup continues to grow with the recent addition of SQE2,” explained Hartmut Kulessa, European marketing manager at Panasonic Business. “Panasonic well appreciates the solution capabilities that SDVoE enables through the Semtech’s BlueRiver platform and is keen to see integrators specify these interface options to seamlessly complement their choice of Panasonic products.” With the introduction of the Intel Smart SDM product concept, AV input options choices have increased for standard displays. Display manufacturers can now simply provide the SDM card slot on their products to be populated at deployment with the SDM input interface required by the installation. By employing BlueRiver in the SDM small form factor, the power and flexibility of SDVoE can be enabled on any standard SDM-based display product, for direct and seamless connection to the AV-over-IP network. BlueRiver complements Panasonic’s growing range of display products for the Professional AV market that feature a flexible input slot that meets Intel SDM specifications. This architecture offers simplification and sleek integration to the Professional AV market since a built-in SDVoE capable receiver means there is no need for an external device. The growing number of display and projector options from Panasonic will support the SDM modules that include Semtech’s BlueRiver chipset. “SDVoE via SDM brings the flexibility to connect sources to screens via off the shelf Ethernet with perfect fidelity, complete synchronization and near zero latency,” said Melissa Nolet, director of product management of video products for Semtech’s Signal Integrity Products Group. “These modules allow system integrators and designers to specify solutions that match the powerful and sleek display products from Panasonic with the unmatched performance of the SDVoE platform powered by Semtech’s BlueRiver technology.”
